The Seacoast Mavericks need walk-off single to beat the Brockton Rox, 5-4

A walk-off single from Ryan Coppinger brought home the winning run for the Seacoast Mavericks (21-26) in a 5-4 victory over the Brockton Rox (20-23) in 11 innings at Leary Field on Friday.

Coppinger had a hot bat for the Seacoast Mavericks. Coppinger went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the fifth and eleventh innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Seacoast Mavericks' Rob Hogenkamp. Hogenkamp went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.

Patrick Ruotolo looked sharp on the mound. The Brockton Rox managed just two hits off of Ruotolo, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his four innings of work.

David Drouin recorded his second win of the year for the Seacoast Mavericks. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

John Sheehan (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
