The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (13-17) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-2 to the Brockton Rox (16-15) on Tuesday.
While the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs led until the fifth inning, the Brockton Rox worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run single by Mitch Elliott.
Brendan OBrien had a hot bat for the Brockton Rox. OBrien went 1-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth inning.
Brendan Doonan racked up eight strikeouts in the the Brockton Rox win. Doonan allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks over seven innings.
Nick Filloramo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
