An ace performance by Tim Holmes carried the Seacoast Mavericks (13-20) to a 2-0 win over the Marthas Vineyard Sharks on Sunday at Vineyard Baseball Park.

Holmes' 11 strikeouts helped the Seacoast Mavericks to the victory. The Seacoast Mavericks' pitcher tossed 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.

John Cook ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed one run.
