The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (5-12) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 3-2 ballgame against the Nashua Silver Knights (11-5) on Tuesday at Doyle Field.
A three-run home run by Johnny Adams gave the Nashua Silver Knights the lead in the eighth inning.
Adams racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Nashua Silver Knights. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the eighth inning.
Connor Root recorded his first win of the year for the Nashua Silver Knights. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.
Michael Marshall (1-3) took the loss for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He lasted just 7 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
