The Alexandria Aces need walk-off single to beat the Presstman Cardinals, 8-7

A walk-off single from Nicholas Collins brought home the winning run for the Alexandria Aces (24-16) in an 8-7 victory over the Presstman Cardinals (13-26) at Frank Mann Field on Friday.

Collins racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Alexandria Aces. He singled in the fifth and ninth innings.

Dylan Riner reached base four times. He singled in the fourth and ninth innings.

Tyler Fries pitched lights out for the Alexandria Aces. The Presstman Cardinals managed just one hit off of Fries, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Joba Ferrell had a hot bat for the Presstman Cardinals. Ferrell went 3-5 and scored three runs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.

Matthew Ruffin ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
