Brandon Angus went 1-3 as the Vienna River Dogs (10-14) took home a 7-6 victory over the Youses Orioles (14-14) in eight innings at Bachman Park on Wednesday.
He doubled in the second inning.Brendan Butler had a hot bat for the Youses Orioles. Butler went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs. He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Greg Baruka pitched lights out for the Youses Orioles. Baruka held the Vienna River Dogs hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Stephen Chrzanowski got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed two runs over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered three hits.
Brian Murphy ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
