Jay Knight drove in three runs as the Gaithersburg Giants (22-15) took home a 7-4 victory over the Bethesda Big Train (27-10) at Criswell Automotive Field on Wednesday.
He singled in the third inning and doubled in the eighth inning.The Gaithersburg Giants had no answer for Will Resnik, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Gaithersburg Giants managed just two hits off of the the Bethesda Big Train's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his three innings of work.
Henry Brooke recorded his first win of the year for the Gaithersburg Giants. Brooke struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Bubba Derby was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
