Zach Markel went 1-2 and hit a home run as the Presstman Cardinals (9-14) took home a 6-3 victory over the Vienna River Dogs (9-11) at James Madison High School on Friday.
He homered in the sixth inning.Justin Drechsel picked up the win for the Presstman Cardinals. Drechsel allowed two earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
A bright spot for the Vienna River Dogs in the defeat was Joseph Vanderplas, who allowed only three runs while striking out five.
Vanderplas (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
