David Schanz went 2-4, sparking the Alexandria Aces (10-7) to a 5-4 victory over the Gaithersburg Giants (13-9) on Friday at Criswell Automotive Field.

Tyler Brown brought the heat against the Gaithersburg Giants during his outing. The Gaithersburg Giants managed just one hit off of Brown, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

The Gaithersburg Giants were led by Danny Freshley's hitting. Freshley went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Colin Milon got the win, running his season record to 4-0. He allowed four runs over six innings. Milon struck out three, walked one and gave up six hits.

Scott Nickerson (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
