Darby McCormick knocked in three runs as the Southern Maryland Nationals (9-5) took home an 8-3 victory over the Vienna River Dogs (6-8) in seven innings at James Madison High School on Wednesday.

Shaun Wood racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Vienna River Dogs. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

The Southern Maryland Nationals' lineup had no answer for Mitchell MacKeith. The Southern Maryland Nationals managed just two hits off of MacKeith, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Emerson Gibbs recorded his third win of the year for the Southern Maryland Nationals. He allowed three runs over five innings. Gibbs struck out one, walked none and gave up six hits.

Patrick Toohers (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.
