An outstanding effort by Joseph Strain hoisted the Rockville Express (16-11) to a 1-0 win in seven innings over the Southern Maryland Nationals (14-14) on Sunday at Regency Furniture Stadium.

The Southern Maryland Nationals couldn't get anything going as long as Strain was on the mound. The Southern Maryland Nationals managed just one hit off of Strain, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his seven innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Southern Maryland Nationals' Emerson Gibbs dominated the Rockville Express' batters, giving up one run and striking out seven.

Gibbs (3-2) took the loss for the Southern Maryland Nationals.
