An ace performance by Connor Hibbs hoisted the Gaithersburg Giants (9-7) to a 2-0 win in seven innings over the Youses Orioles (7-7) on Friday at Criswell Automotive Field.
The Gaithersburg Giants' Hibbs kept the Youses Orioles off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six.
A bright spot for the Youses Orioles in the defeat was Lee Lawler, who allowed only zero runs while striking out eight.
Shaun Rubin (1-1) took the loss for the Youses Orioles. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
