Nick Kranick drove in three runs, sparking the Alexandria Aces (6-6) to a 7-2 victory over the Presstman Cardinals (6-9) on Monday at Joe Cannon Stadium.

Jarrett Shaffer looked sharp on the mound. Shaffer held the Presstman Cardinals hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Luis Barros was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Alexandria Aces batters and allowing zero runs.

Joba Ferrell was hot from the plate for the Presstman Cardinals. Ferrell went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Ronnie Glenn improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alexandria Aces. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Algenis Vargas couldn't get it done on the bump for the Presstman Cardinals, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
