The Baltimore Redbirds (9-7) and the Gaithersburg Giants (6-5) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Baltimore Redbirds capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-2 win at Calvert Hall HS.

The Baltimore Redbirds were led by a flawless day at the dish by Pat Fitzgerald, who went 2-2 against the Gaithersburg Giants' pitching. He singled in the second and eighth innings.

Brandon Hinkle brought the heat against the Gaithersburg Giants during his outing. Hinkle held the Gaithersburg Giants hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.

Connor Hibbs couldn't get it done on the mound for the Gaithersburg Giants, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked eight, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
