Nicholas Collins went 1-3, sparking the Alexandria Aces (4-4) to a 3-0 victory over the Southern Maryland Nationals (5-4) on Wednesday at Regency Furniture Stadium.

The Southern Maryland Nationals had no answer for Colin Milon, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Southern Maryland Nationals managed just two hits off of Milon, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven during his five innings of work.

Sean Poppen allowed two earned runs, three hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Poppen (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
