The Toronto Maple Leafs survive the London Majors rally, escape with 5-3 victory

The London Majors (21-15) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Toronto Maple Leafs (18-16) on Monday, as the London Majors fell 5-3 at Labatt Park after falling behind by four runs in the ninth inning.

The London Majors scored two runs in the ninth on two doubles and an error. Despite their efforts, the London Majors couldn't finish the comeback.

Damon Topolie racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He singled in the second and fifth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Adam Garner's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Toronto Maple Leafs past the London Majors. Garner allowed one earned run on nine hits and no walks over nine innings.

Josh Palmer (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
