The Newton Rebels make the most of 9 hits in 6-4 victory over the Salina Bluejays

Both the Newton Rebels (2-1) and the Salina Bluejays (1-2) put runners aboard on Monday, but it was the Newton Rebels that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-4 win at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Tyler Faught got on base three times in the game for the Newton Rebels. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second and fifth innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Salina Bluejays' Adam Jones. Jones went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth and ninth innings.

Cody Jackson recorded his first win of the year for the Newton Rebels. Jackson struck out none, walked none and gave up five hits.

Aaron Larsen (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
