The Haysville Heat (1-0) took the last of four lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Valley Center Diamond Dawgs (1-1), securing a 6-4 victory on Saturday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Blake Hugaert racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Haysville Heat. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the eighth innings.

Ryan Thompson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Haysville Heat. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered no hits.
