Tuesday was a great day for Ian Rice, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Baltimore Redbirds (28-13) to a 7-6 victory over the Bethesda Big Train (25-16) at Shirley Povich Field in 10 innings.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.
The Bethesda Big Train couldn't get anything going as long as Corey Taylor was on the mound. The Bethesda Big Train managed just two hits off of the the Baltimore Redbirds' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his 4 2/3 innings of work.
Trevor Kelley got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Bo Logan couldn't get it done on the hill for the Bethesda Big Train, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 10 innings, walked one and struck out six.
The Baltimore Redbirds were sparked by Patrick Blair and Rice, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
