The Guelph Royals (17-15) jumped out to an early lead on the Hamilton Cardinals (5-26) and captured a 9-2 victory on Tuesday at David E. Hastings Stadium.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Guelph Royals to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Sean Reilly, an RBI single by Reilly, and a three-run home run by Mark Allen during the first inning and an RBI double by Reilly in the second inning fueled the Guelph Royals' offense early.

Allen racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Guelph Royals.

David Hatt pitched lights out for the Guelph Royals. The Hamilton Cardinals managed just three hits off of the the Guelph Royals' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Zack Ranta racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Hamilton Cardinals. He homered in the first inning.

Brett vanPelt was charged with his sixth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked one and struck out one.
