Eric Cordova did his part on the rubber, but it wasn't enough to carry the London Majors (20-14) to a win on Sunday, as the London Majors fell to the Ottawa Fat Cats (15-18) 2-1 at Labatt Park.
Cordova baffled the Ottawa Fat Cats, striking out nine batters. Cordova allowed no earned runs on five hits and one walk over eight innings.
The Ottawa Fat Cats held off the London Majors, as the London Majors were unable to overcome a two-run first inning deficit.
The London Majors scored one run in the fifth on a groundout by Chris Stewart. Unfortunately, the London Majors weren't able to take the lead back.
Brandon Huffman got the win, running his season record to 5-4. He allowed one run over 4 2/3 innings. Huffman struck out seven, walked one and gave up four hits.
Cordova (5-3) was the game's losing pitcher.
