The Toronto Maple Leafs hang on against the Guelph Royals, 5-3

The Guelph Royals (10-12) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Toronto Maple Leafs (9-11), and the Guelph Royals lost 5-3 to the Toronto Maple Leafs after falling behind by three runs in the eighth inning.

The Guelph Royals scored one run in the ninth on a solo home run by Sean Reilly. Despite their efforts, the Guelph Royals couldn't finish the comeback.

Glenn Jackson was solid at the plate for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jackson went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, fourth, and fifth innings.

Clay Caulfield struck out nine, paving the way for a the Toronto Maple Leafs win. Caulfield allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk over seven innings.

Reilly got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the first and seventh innings and homered in the ninth inning.

David Hatt (2-2) took the loss for the Guelph Royals. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
