A superb effort by Marek Deska spurred the Toronto Maple Leafs (8-11) to a 5-2 win over the Guelph Royals on Saturday at David E. Hastings Stadium.

Deska's eight strikeouts were enough to push the Toronto Maple Leafs past the Guelph Royals (10-11). Deska allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks over nine innings.

Will Richards delivered a big hit off the bench in the two.. His pinch-hit single was the key moment in the Toronto Maple Leafs' three-run win.

With the game scoreless in the second inning Richards came to the plate and singled.

Branfy Arias racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He homered in the third inning.

Josh Garton racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Guelph Royals. He homered in the seventh inning.

Roberto Suppa (1-1) took the loss for the Guelph Royals. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
