The Bethesda Big Train (25-16) didn't have a chance on Friday, as the Rockville Express (30-11) won in blowout fashion, 15-0 at Shirley Povich Field.
The Rockville Express scored six runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Johnny Cole, an RBI single by Josh Hampton, an RBI double by Tyler York, an RBI single by Christian Wolfe, and a two-run double by Peter Bowles.
Ryne Willard racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Rockville Express. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the eighth inning.
Christian Sbiliy put together a nice outing. The Bethesda Big Train managed just one hit off of Sbiliy, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out five during his four innings of work.
Mike Ryan got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered three hits.
Kelly Secrest ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
The Rockville Express easily handled the Bethesda Big Train pitching as eight hitters combined for 17 hits, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
