Preston Zachrich kept the Xenia Scouts (0-3) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Grand Lake Mariners (2-2) beat the Xenia Scouts, 6-4.

Zachrich allowed four hits, two walks and struck out five.

The Grand Lake Mariners held off the Xenia Scouts, as the Xenia Scouts were unable to overcome a six-run fourth inning deficit.

The Xenia Scouts scored on a two-run home run by Ryan Farmer in the eighth inning and an error and a fielder's choice in the ninth inning. Still, the Xenia Scouts couldn't catch the Grand Lake Mariners.

Ryan Blanchard racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Grand Lake Mariners. He homered in the second inning and singled in the third inning.

Blake McKnight ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.
