Team Merrimack defeated Team Pittsburgh to win Hockey Night in Boston's 2013 Sophomore All-Star Tournament. Merrimack was a powerhouse in the tournament, scoring a tourney-high 37 goals, with only 9 goals against. Team Pittsburgh was a +3 with 21 goals for, and 18 goals against.

In order for Pittsburgh to win, they needed to stymie Merrimack's scorers. But the success that Pittsburgh saw throughout the tournament wasn't there in the Championship game, and Merrimack tallied 8 goals. Though the score makes the game look one-sided, Pittsburgh kept competing for the entire game. Players on both teams will look to benefit their respective Varsity squads and Junior programs in the Fall, and they showed their potential and talent in this exciting Championship game.
