On Friday August 26th, 2022 Hunter Luzzo suited up for the first game of the year and his first game as a Chief. He did not disappoint. Hunter was battling all over the ice for the first two periods. With 10:31 left in the 3rd period Hunter was in a race for the puck in the offensive zone and crashed full speed into the end boards. Hunter broke his left leg (femur) and was transported via ambulance to Lowell General Hospital. From there he was immediately transfered to Boston Children's Hospital where he underwent a successful surgery that night and into the morning. Hunter was so brave and unbelievably tough during this whole ordeal.  The Chiefs 2011 team will dedicate their season to Hunter and the Mass Bay Chiefs as well as  the whole hockey community are behind Hunter on his road to recovery.
