Sunflower League teams represent at NBC World Series

Hutchinson, Kan. -- The Haysville Aviators grabbed an early lead and never looked back in a 10-3 win over the Denver (Colo.) Cougars in NBC World Series action last night (July 31) at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson, Kan.
The Aviators broke on top with two runs in the first before adding two more in the third.
After the Cougars scored two in the sixth to cut the lead to 6-3, single tallies in the seventh and eighth and a three-run ninth inning sealed the win for the Aviators.
Tommy Davis powered the Aviators, with three hits, including a home run, along with three runs and a pair of RBIs.
Cade Baker also had three hits and three RBIs for the Aviators, with Jayden Hill going 3-of-5 at the plate with one run driven in.
Arturo Ramirez started and lasted six innings for Haysville, giving up three runs and fanning eight batters with just one walk in picking up the victory.
Mason Davenport followed Ramirez with two scoreless frames and Brady Pacha struck out the side in the ninth to put the finishing touches on the Aviators' big win.
Haysville will now face the San Diego (Calif.) Stars tomorrow evening (Aug. 2) starting at 6 pm at Eck Stadium on the campus of Wichita State University.
