Hutchinson, Kan. -- The Cheney Diamond Dawgs shut out the Waco (Texas) Winners by a count of 10-0 in action at the NBC World Series last night (July 29) at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson, Kan. 

The Diamond Dawgs got going early and never looked back, getting RBI doubles from Mason Crews and Jackson Syring in the second inning. 

Lenny Ashby then added to the Cheney lead with a two-run homer in the third that made it 4-0. 

The fourth inning is when the floodgates opened, as the Diamond Dawgs capitalized on five errors to plate five runs before adding another tally in the fifth to wrap up the game via the run rule. 

Tyler Schott got the win for the Diamond Dawgs by tossing four shutout innings and striking out six. 

Next up at the NBC World Series for Cheney is a matchup with the Liberal (Kan.) BeeJays tomorrow evening (July 31) at 6 pm.
