The GSCBL announced today that Dan McDermott of the California Bees has been named the 2022 Manager of the Year. 

Under the guidance of McDermott, the Bees (13-11 in the league; 15-14 overall) finished tied for second overall and made the GSCBL playoffs for the first time in franchise history this season.  

The Bees either won or split their 6-game series with each of their GSCBL opponents, including taking four of six games from GSCBL champion San Francisco Seagulls. 

In year 2 as the manager of the Bees, McDermott increased the team's win total by 12 from 2021, and the team finished over .500 for the first time in franchise history.
