Forward Phoenix Timmington couldn’t be more excited to come stateside and join the Eagles organization.

“I chose to play for the Eagles because they’re such a great organization top-to-bottom and have a great team that I am happy to be part of,” gushed Timmington.

Timmington played last year with the Petrolia Flyers in the PCJHL; all it took was a consistent set of eyes and a phone call from scout Chris Fryfogle, and the Eagles were sold.

“Chris Fryfogle, one of our scouts, saw Phoenix play last season and knowing our culture and our level, felt like he would fit in great,” explained Head Coach/General Manager Steve Haddon.

“From the video and Chris’s input, [Phoenix] has a lot of energy that he will bring,” Haddon added.

Timmington is a 2005 birth year forward and knows that the rookie curve can be tough at times, but is eager to start developing as a player, both on and off the ice.

“Going into my first year, I am looking forward to working hard everyday and showcasing my talents. I can’t wait to meet new teammates and go through this journey with them as we work towards a championship,” he discussed.

His attitude and approach is what the Eagles’ coaching staff can’t wait to hone; intangibles that can help players lessen the development curve.

“Being young, feisty, and fearless will make it easy for him to transition to this level. He has skill, competes hard and that’s a lot to work with,” mused Haddon.

With just over one month to main camp and two months from the regular season, the forward is counting down the days on his calendar.

“I’m extremely excited; the Eagles are a franchise with such a great history and I am looking forward to the start of the season,” Timmington concluded.

Entering their 10th season of existence, the Eagles have graduated over 100 players to college commitments in the United States (NCAA) and Canada (U-Sports), as well as professional contracts abroad. Eagles’ alumni dot the hockey landscape; playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), Poland and Sweden.
