Over the past two seasons, the Mountain Division has become quite adept at signing, developing, and advancing players from Quebec to the next level. Forward Marc-Antoine Prince envisioned that potential for himself by joining the Eagles for 2022-23.
“I really like how the coaches want to help you move to the next level,” explained Prince.
The Eagles have unearthed a bevy of talent from the area since joining the USPHL; Xavier Fortin, Charles-Anthony Barbeau, Alex Bedard, the list goes on and on. The organization’s success in the area is mirrored by other programs in the division, leading to a deep, tough schedule, something not lost on the 2002 birth year forward.
“I’m looking forward to playing in a tough division and in front of the great Northern Colorado Eagles fans,” Prince added.
In 2021-22, Prince played his first season of junior hockey and the freshness of the experience can be a great teaching tool for others. The veteran forward’s experience is something that Eagles Head Coach/General Manager Steve Haddon is looking to lean on throughout the season.
“His experience and leadership will be a great addition to our veteran core players along with helping first year players navigate their first year of junior hockey,” remarked Haddon.
The Boucherville, QUE product spent last season with the Twin City Thunder where he finished fourth on the team in goals (8) and ended the year with 15 points (8-7-15) for a Thunder squad that squeaked into the playoffs.
Entering his final year of eligibility, Prince has his sights set firmly on making an impact for NoCo.
“I want to help my team in any way that I can and to help us win a championship,” he said.
The 5’8, 187-lb forward will look to follow in the footsteps of over a dozen Eagles alumni with college commitments in the past two seasons and Head Coach/GM Steve Haddon can’t wait to bring Prince into the fold.
“I want to earn a college hockey commitment,” declared Prince.
“We are excited to have Marc join the organization and help him continue on his hockey path,” agreed Haddon.
Entering their 10th season of existence, the Eagles have graduated over 100 players to college commitments in the United States (NCAA) and Canada (U-Sports), as well as professional contracts abroad. Eagles’ alumni dot the hockey landscape; playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), Poland and Sweden.
