MANAGER OF THE YEAR - ZACK PACE, SONOMA STOMPERS
Sonoma Stompers Zack Pace has been named Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs Manager of the Year. In 2019, Pace would lead the Sonoma Stompers to a Pacific Association best 45-19 record.
Over Pace’s two year tenure, he now holds a win percentage of over .708% and an astonishing record of 102-42 for the Stompers.
The Sonoma State alumnus surpassed his 100th career victory, when the Sonoma Stompers defeated the Salina Stockade 8-4 on August 20th.
The former three-time Gilded Glove Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs center fielder award winner also helped promote eight Stomper players to higher levels of baseball during the 2019 playing season. Most notably was left-handed reliever Cole Watts to the Kansas City Royals in June.
This is the first time in Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs history that a manager has outright won the award in multiple seasons. In 2017, Managers P.J. Phillips and Takoshi Miyoshi shared the award, with Miyoshi winning it as well in 2016.
The former 11-year professional also coaches locally at Sonoma State University.
EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR - BRETT CREAMER, SONOMA STOMPERS
Sonoma Stompers General Manager Brett Creamer has won the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs Executive of the Year winner for the second consecutive season.
Creamer played an instrumental part in introducing the Salina Stockade as a traveling team for the 2019 season.
The Petaluma native also assisted with Pacific Association league scheduling and website development for the 2019 season.
The Sonoma Stompers also led the Pacific Association in players promoted to higher levels of baseball and were second in league attendance.
