The Leamington Flyers are happy to announce that Ryan Gagnier has been signed for the 2018-2019 season.

Ryan spent last season playing for the Sun County Minor Midget team, he played in 31 games and managed to accumulate 19 goals and 11 assists. The 16-year-old forward was a 2018 3rd round selection of the Oshawa Generals. Listed at 5”11 and 165 lbs Gagnier already has a frame unlike most players his age. Ryan will continue to compete for a spot on the Generals roster and will join the Flyers if one is not available.

Flyers General Manager Justin Solcz says he is excited to have landed Gagnier and have him in the Flyers system.

“Ryan is an excellent 2-way forward who plays a 200-foot game,” said Solcz. “He is relentless on the forecheck and his ability to dig and recover pucks is unbelievable. If we are fortunate to have Ryan in a Flyer uniform it will be a quick step on his path to a higher level.”

He has the ability to contribute in both ends of the ice. Head Coach Cam Crowder believes Gagnier will be a versatile addition and is not weary of his age.

“Ryan is a player who can play in all situations. He has a rare combination of speed, size and compete,” said Crowder. “I am looking forward to see Ryan’s development as a Flyer and watch him grow off the ice as well.”

Ryan is the 3rd Generals prospect to sign with the Flyers this offseason joining 2017 7th Rounder Adam Jeffery & 2018 U-18 1st Rounder Ryan Polidori!
