2020 Home Opener
Date: Jan 30, 2020

After months of hard work from the Green Gaels players and staff, the 2018 OJBLL is finally gets under way for the Green and White Thursday, April 28th when we welcome the Newmarket Saints to the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex at 8PM.
Thursday night will mark the opening of the 24th season of Green Gaels Junior B lacrosse. There will be plenty of new faces as the Gaels take to the floor along with plenty of returning faces as well including fifth year veteran Jeremy McWatters who will lead the Gaels in 2018 as team captain. After putting up 34 goals and 48 assists in 20 games in 2017, Jeremy will be looked upon by new head coach Joel Johnson to help steer the offence and help get the new roster additions acclimated to the Green Gaels systems.
Thursday nights contest will open the season for the Mid-East division rivals, and both teams will have a quick turnaround Saturday when the Gaels travel to Newmarket for a 3PM contest.
The Gaels will be looking to get the season started on the right foot Thursday, and with a new look behind the bench, new systems in place, and a number of new bodies making their first appearances at the Junior B level, relying on the veteran presence brought to the arena by players like McWatters, Justin Leith, Adam Turner, and Kyle Curtis will be important in keeping everyone calm throughout the night as introductions take place and the action gets going.
Tickets for Green Gaels home games are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, while children 12 and under are admitted free under the supervision of an adult.
The following Green Gaels home game will be Thursday, May 3rd at 8PM against the Brampton Excelsiors.
