Ottawa, ON native Carter Vollett continues to take strides in his rookie season with the Kemptville 73’s Midget AAA program.
Known as a team first, unselfish player who when given a task, gives it his all without hesitation. Through 33 games, the blossoming power-forward has tallied 5 goals and totaled 11 points, placing him 4th among 2002 born players on his team.
After spending last season with the Ottawa Senators Bantam AAA program, Vollett was selected in the 6th round, 59th overall by the Kemptville 73’s in the CCHL Bantam Protect Draft.
What his Coach says:
Carter plays a physical game, finishes his checks, and drives to the net fearlessly. He is an extremely coachable young man with an outstanding attitude and willingness to listen and learn. Usually a winger, he will do whatever is asked from him to help the team, which includes playing games on defense. He is catching the eye of OHL Scouts because of his skating ability and high compete level. Carter doesn’t cheat the game, and I would be hard-pressed to think back of a shift he’s taken off – Jason York – Head Coach – Kemptville 73’s Midget AAA
What the Scouts say:
Great size. Power game. Plays a hard and physical style. Good speed – Levi Hill – International Scouting Services
North-South physical winger. Good on the forecheck. Shields the puck well with his size. Comes out of the corners and drives the net. First step and speed should be an area to focus on moving forward – Benjamin Gallant – International Scouting Services
Power winger who is strong down wing and along boards. Good down low. Plays with physical edge – Rocco Zappia – International Scouting Services
