Congratulations to the Carolina Junior Hurricanes 12U AAA PeeWee Major team for winning the NHL Youth Cup in an exciting overtime shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 at PNC Arena. The Canes won a rematch vs. the Blue Jackets after dropping the opening game to them 2-0. They then went on to beat Nashville 7-1, won 6-1 over the Islanders and a 4-0 must win over the Penguins to secure a spot in the final.

The Blue Jackets jumped to an early lead and scored with just 10 seconds into the opening period. Coach Steve Rice said “going down by a goal that quickly into the game could have been devastating, but the boys kept their composure and battled back. They also killed several crucial penalties and overcame adversity throughout the game.”

Kaden Wolitski won the tournament MVP finishing with 7 goals and one assist.
