The Blades golf tournament is this coming Saturday.
Date: Aug 9, 2021
Mount Brydges, Ontario - Erasing a 3-1 deficit, the Bulldogs showed good pre-season grit and determination as the visiting Petrolia Flyers from the PJHL Stobbs Division gave their hosts all they could handle at the Doghouse (Tri Township Arena).
Avery Timmermans would break the Flyer’s goose egg at 10:38 of the second period to give the hosts some jump and get scoring frenzy started. Dale McMaster would pull the Bulldogs to within one at the 5:25 mark of the third period, followed by two power play tallies by Channin George (8:08) and Nathan Pawlowski (13:00) to give the home side the lead. A late Kole Keating goal with 0:37 remaining on the clock would contribute to both teams heading into overtime.
The extra stanza solved nothing and the game went into a shootout where Keating would be the lone scorer for the Flyers as the visitors survive a comeback scare to take the game 5:4.
The Dogs will take to the ice on Sunday, September 10 at 3:30PM for their final pre-season game against the Thamesford Trojans.
