The Green Gaels and the Orangeville Northmen will renew acquaintances beginning tomorrow evening, Thursday, August 3rd in Bowmanville at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex at 8PM for game #1 of the OJBLL Championship Series.

In a rematch of last years OJBLL Championship Series and Founder's Cup Final, the Gaels will be looking to change the script in this years playoff series after the Northmen swept the Gaels in the OJBLL finals in 2016. With some new faces on both rosters, it will be an interesting series with an opportunity to compete at the 2017 Founder's Cup National Championship on the line.

Both teams have battled through of playoff lacrosse to get to the OJBLL Championship Series in 2017.

In the Western Conference, the Orangeville Northmen started off the playoffs with a four game series victory over their Mid-West division rival, the Owen Sound NorthStars. In the Western Conference Semi-Finals, they met the Windsor Clippers, a series the Northmen swept in three games. In the Western Conference Championship, the Northmen took on the number one seeded Six Nations Rebels in four games to advance to the OJBLL Championship Series.

In the East, the Gaels have taken on some adversity throughout their playoff run. After moving past the Mississauga Tomahawks in three games, the Gaels ran into a tough Oakville Buzz team who pushed the Gaels to game #5 in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. The Gaels prevailed 12 - 7 in Game #5 against the Buzz to move into the Eastern Conference Finals against the Akwesasne Indians. With home floor in hand, the Gaels travelled to Akwesasne for two games, dropping both games and coming home with their backs up against the wall. With no room for error, the Gaels put up back-to-back-to-back victories over Akwesasne at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex to win the Eastern Conference Championship and move into the OJBLL finals.

Tickets for Green Gaels Home Playoff Games are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, while children 12 and under are admitted free under the supervision of an adult. Kids, don't forget to bring your helmet and gloves to go on the floor in between periods at all Gaels Home Playoff Games!
