The Bears scored early to send the Teddy Bears flying in the annual Teddy Bear Toss game but their offensive struggles continued as they only beat Boyd DiClemente once in 37 shots and dropped their 4th in a row Friday night at the Bears Den.
Brett Garvey (Ashton ON) had the honour of scoring to send the Teddy Bears flying onto the ice at 3:41 as he scooped up a loose puck in the neutral zone while the Bears were shorthanded and scored his 7th goal of the season, unassisted. The Bears outshot the Lumber Kings 20-11 while taking 2 of the 3 penalties in the opening 20 minutes of play.
The 2nd period was scoreless as Pembroke outshot Smiths Falls 10-7 and took 3 of the 5 penalties.
Taylor Egan scored a powerplay goal at 6:17 to tie the game while Pembroke was on a powerplay. Brendan Browne put Pembroke ahead for good at the 14:30 mark and Salim Mahi-Beaudry put the game away at 17:19. Each team recorded 10 shots on goal while the game turned chippy as 13 minor penalties were called as well as 4 misconducts. The Bears took 7 of the minors and 2 of the misconducts.
