Board Meeting Minutes

Minutes from February 18, 2016 board meeting were approved.

Las Vegas Tournament.  Ben’s team had a nice trip, but their game outcomes were disappointing.

Fields.  Ben provided a list of fields under consideration for the upcoming season with their 2015 cost.

• Turner: $30/day.  This may be increasing for 2016.
• Holland: $50/day DH; $85-$100/night game
• Keizer: $50/day DH; $135/night game
• West Albany HS: $50/day DH; $75/night game
• South Albany HS: $0
• Silverton HS: $10/hr. $25 lights
• Williams Field, Corvallis: $100/night game
• Amity HS: $50/day DH
• Geer Park: $21/hr.
• Chemeketa CC: $175/game + lights
• Barrick Field (North Salem HS): $150/game.  This should be able to be negotiated down for 2016
• Other fields to consider: Blanchett, Sprague, Jefferson, Santiam Christian

League Workout/Draft.  Nine guys have signed up so far.  David and Nick will modify the Facebook advertising to try to bring in more players.  Need to encourage guys to sign up ahead of time if they plan to attend.  Andrew will coordinate sending a message to players that remained undrafted after last season’s workout inviting them to this season’s workout at no charge.

Used Uniforms.  Garrett has a line on used uniforms from Blanchett HS.  He was wondering whether or not the league would have interest in purchasing them for use by a new team to the league.  No decision was made, but Garett and David will look into this further.

2016 Teams.  Signups have been light thus far – seven teams among the four divisions.  No need to worry too much yet.  Appears that the 25+ division only has two teams confirmed.

Tournaments.  The 35+ Labor Day tournament is planned again for 2016.  Nick expressed interest in expanding it to 18+ as well.  A tournament around July 4 was also discussed.  Ben and Nick will discuss further.

South Salem LL Tournament Team.  Matt Nass has contacted the league looking for equipment or monetary donations for this team.  Tournament teams are unable to access regular LL funds.  It was decided to not make a decision on this until we have a better handle on our own league’s finances for the upcoming season.

Team Dues.  It was decided that a minimum of 50% of individual team dues will be due to the league by May 1.  100% of team dues are due by May 31.  Andrew will work on sending a message to the entire league and post this to the website.
