Girls Division Champions: Pittsburgh Penguins Elite

Date:  Source: NHL Youth Cup

In an exciting shootout finish, the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite beat the Little Caesars (Detroit) by the score of 3-2 to win the first ever Girls Division of the NHL Youth Cup.

Jaiden Fahrny scored the shootout game winner for the Penguins Elite team. She also became the first person to win two NHL Youth Cup championships in the same year, as she won the other with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 2004 team earlier this month in Philadelphia.

Goalie Ava McNaughton, who also plays for the Penguins Black 2004 boys team, did not allow a goal in the shootout to hold the Little Caesars team, coached by the only female to ever play in an NHL game Manon Rheaume, at bay.

Teams from Detroit and St. Louis traveled to Pittsburgh on Halloween weekend (October 28-30), making the event a great success! Congratulations to the Penguins and everybody who participated!
