BURLINGTON wins tough contest against CAMBRIDGE, 3-2

STONEY CREEK tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but BLUEWATER held on for a 3-1 victory.
A goal by Jessica Forcey put BLUEWATER up 3-0 in the third period, but STONEY CREEK pulled to within two on Victoria Klimek's tally 17:55 into the third period.
BLUEWATER was led by goalie Holly Scott, who finished with 44 saves while allowing one goal. Scott certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 1.21 entering the contest.
BLUEWATER excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.
BLUEWATER was helped by Bridgid Goris, who racked up one goal. Goris scored 10:31 into the second period to make the score 2-0 BLUEWATER. Sierra Burt (A) picked up the assist. BLUEWATER additionally got points from Burt (A), who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, BLUEWATER received assists from Emma Forcey (C), Sydney McDougall, and Madison Melo, who each chipped in one.
BLUEWATER was unable to stop STONEY CREEK from sending pucks towards the net, and STONEY CREEK eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.
More assists for STONEY CREEK came via Kayla Vespa (A) and Courtney Maud, who contributed one each.
BLUEWATER incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Hannah Miller took the loss and made eight saves before being replaced by Serena DAngelo who made four saves. STONEY CREEK incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
