John Crawford #62 - Bulldogs White

Date:  Source: Bulldog Hockey Development

John Crawford started in the Bulldog Program just a short year ago. Your average Canadian starts hockey at the age 3-5. John Crawford started getting his skates laced up as a Senior. Still like a young pup you won't catch this guy without a smile on his face. Playing defense for the first year of the Bulldog Program John has recently moved up to the forward position. John would be the first to tell you he isnt the fastest or the most skilled player on the ice. But John works every week at training with many others at his calibre on his individual skills each week. John is always eager to improve and this week those skills and his determination paid off in a big way.

With team White down against team Bue all night John was able to breakaway from his coverage on a faceoff win. Jesse Desourdy was able to win a draw clean back to his defenseman. Marie Lemon was able to take advantage and step into a nice shot from the top of the circles. A hungry Crawford was able to create space for himself, recover the rebound and make a quick move around Blue goalies Todd Lemay and put the biscuit in the basket.

This surged what looked like a for sure comeback for team White. Blue was just too strong though. A late goal in the third deflated the hopes of White and Blue was able to establish themselves as the team to beat and was back to the top in the standings. A strong effort from both teams lead to fantastic play and a high paced game. Jordan Wooley was able to secure the win for team Blue potting the last two goals for his squad with strong indvidual tallys.

In other news this week team Orange was able to defeat the defending champions with a late goal in the third period with just 10 seconds remaining. Not sure if it was last weeks featured player Patti Terry or Adam Amission who was able to pop home the game winner out front but what a seesaw battle! These teams are both now at the top of the standings and it looks like it will be a three horse race as we come into the final stretch!

Good Luck Bulldogs, and a special congratulations to John Crawford on his first league goal!!!!!!!!!!
