Cathedral Prep had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over North Allegheny.

Cathedral Prep got the win on the strength of a great game by Nick Trageser, who had one goal and three assists. Trageser scored 1:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cathedral Prep. Doran Okon provided the assist.

Cathedral Prep forced North Allegheny's goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Joseph Hubert made 14 stops and Douglas Wild made 13. Cathedral Prep put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow North Allegheny to score on any of its three power plays. Cathedral Prep was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes.

Cathedral Prep additionally got points from Joe Kelly, who also racked up two goals and two assists, Okon, who also had one goal and one assist, and Donovan Cullen, who also registered one goal and one assist. Jacob Emerson also scored for Cathedral Prep. In addition, Cathedral Prep received assists from Joe Sala, Jack Becker, and Pat Kelly, who contributed one each.
