The Calgary Inferno tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Les Canadiennes would not be denied the victory, haning on for the 2-1 victory.
A goal by Katia Clement-Heydra put Les Canadiennes up 2-0 in the third period, but the Inferno pulled to within one on Brianne Jenner's tally 14:22 into the third period.
Calgary Inferno was stymied by Les Canadiennes' netminder Charline Labonte, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. Labonte managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 1.64 prior to the game.
Les Canadiennes was led by rookie Clement-Heydra, who registered one goal. Clement-Heydra scored 1:23 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Les Canadiennes. Cathy Chartrand picked up the assist.
