LES CANADIENNES UNVEIL 2016-17 ROSTER
Date: Oct 6, 2016

Undefeated on home ice this season and overall thus far in 2016, Les Canadiennes return to the ice this weekend when they host the Brampton Thunder on Saturday at Boisbriand Municipal Arena and on Sunday at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.
After sweeping the Calgary Inferno last weekend to claim first place in the CWHL standings, Les Canadiennes (16-2-0) have their sights sets on extending their lead over the Thunder, who sit four points back of Montreal in third place.
The weekend set will feature seven of the top 10 CWHL scorers, led by Les Canadiennes’ Marie-Philip Poulin and Ann-Sophie Bettez in the top two spots with 30 and 29 points, respectively. Brampton’s Jamie Lee Rattray and Laura Fortino are tied for fourth in the League with 24 points, one ahead of Montreal’s Kim Deschênes and two up on Thunder forward Jess Jones. Caroline Ouellette rounds out the list just one point shy of Jones.
Both offences will have to work for their goals, as the two clubs are the stingiest in the CWHL. Les Canadiennes have allowed a League-low 24 goals this season, while the Thunder come in second with 47 goals against. Netminder Charline Labonté leads the way with a .933 save percentage, followed by Brampton’s Erica Howe (.925) and Liz Knox (.922).
Saturday’s contest (5:30 p.m.) will be a homecoming for Labonté, a Boisbriand native. Sunday’s tilt (1:30 p.m.) will be Les Canadiennes’ third game in Brossard, after playing before a packed crowd to open up 2016.
