STEPHAN RETURNS TO WILD

Wenatchee, WA. -- The Wenatchee Wild, preparing for their first season as  members of the British Columbia Hockey League, are pleased to announce the return of Kyle Stephan for his second season with the team.

Stephan, from Barrie, Ontario, is a left-handed shooting forward. He’s 20 years old, stands 6’2” and weighs 180 lbs. In 23 regular season games with the Wild last season, he had 7 goals, 11 assists and 28 penalty minutes. Stephan appeared in 5 playoff games, with 1 assist and 10 penalty minutes. He started the season with Rio Grande Valley, totaling 9 goals, 15 assists and 30 penalty minutes in 30 games.

About Stephan, Wild Head Coach/General Manager Bliss Littler said that “Kyle averaged close to a point a game last year and will be counted on for offense. Kyle’s overall game got better as the season progressed.”

On the prospect of returning to the Wild, Stephan says “Well, it would be an understatement to say I’m excited just to come back. This will be my fifth and final year of junior hockey, a last kick of the can if you will and that makes the hunger to win much more real. I know I speak for the team when I say we are eager to step in and show what the Wild boys are capable of. I can’t wait to be back in the Wolf’s Den on opening night with the best junior hockey fans out there behind us.”

The Wild will open the regular season September 11th and 12th, with a pair of road games against the Prince George Spruce Kings. The team’s first home game at the Town Toyota Center will be Saturday, October 10th, against the Coquitlam Express. Season seats for all 28 home games are available through the Wild office, or by calling 509-888-7825.
