In the SCBL last night, the Lake Norman Copperheads beat the SBA Bones 8-5.   Copperhead right-hander Austin Hancock allowed one earned run in seven innings last night. With the win, Austin now has a 1-3 record. Lake Norman’s Brandon Gragilla (Wake Tech CC) hit his first home run of the season last night. Nick Nunziato (Belmont Abbey) hit a pair of doubles for the Bones.

The Statesville Owls smashed the Concord Weavers 11-3 yesterday.  Statesville’s Mike Tibbits (Madonna) hit a pair of doubles and drove in one last night. Nick Beinlich (Belmont Abbey) had three hits and stole two bases for the Weavers.

In the final game last night, the Piedmont Pride downed the Carolina Vipers 3-1. Piedmont’s Michael Gilroy (Winthrop) pitched 3.2 scoreless innings yesterday and won his first game of the season. Ryan Rigby (Mississippi State) picked up his sixth save of the season yesterday.
