Last night in the Cal Ripken League, the Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts downed the D.C Grays by the score of 4-1. Darrien Ragins (Delaware State) earned the win for the T-Bolts after throwing six solid innings yesterday. Connor Tagg (Case Western Reserve) picked up his third save of the season last night.

The Alexandria Aces defeated the Herndon Braves 5-3 yesterday. Nick DiEva (Stony Brook) was the starting pitcher for the Aces and he earned his first win of the year last night.  Nebraska-Kearney’s Joe Smidt pitched a scoreless 9th inning and saved his first game of the season for the Aces. Brett Netzer (UNC-Charlotte) had three hits and drove in two for the Aces.

The Rockville Express and Baltimore Dodgers scored a combined 23 runs yesterday, with the Express squeaking out a 13-10 win. Lewis Guilbeau (McNeese State) and Carl Cobert were the offensive stars for the Express last night. Baltimore’s Brandon Smith (Maryland) and Michael Mioduszewski (Eastern Michigan) both hit home runs last night. Austin Reynolds (Columbia State CC) had three hits and scored three runs for the Dodgers.

The Pitcher of the Night is Darrien Ragins of the Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts by way of Delaware State.  A 6-foot-2 inch lefty, Darrien made his second start of the season last night and he is now sporting a 2-0 record. He gave up one run in his six innings of work. He scattered three hits, walked a pair of batters and he fanned six. He now has an ERA of 1.80 in 15 innings pitched.

The Hitter of the Night is Lewis Guilbeau of the Rockville Express by way of McNeese State University. A senior from Austin, TX, Lewis hit a double and two singles in yesterday’s win. He also scored twice and drove in two for the Express.  He now has a batting average of .350 this season.

  • After picking up another hit yesterday, Andy Mocahbee (Herndon—West Georgia Tech) is having a heck of a week. In the last seven games, he is 9-for-17 and has driven in three runners.
